PFT found a quote by Colts tight end Dallas Clark, basically saying he has no earthly idea what Who Dat means.
"I have no idea what it means," Clark said. "No reason to care. That's not a good thing I don't think. I sure that's a good thing for them so hopefully we don't hear it too much. I just don't know the story behind what that's about."
Look, we know it's not immediately obvious, but anyone with the slightest bit of natural curiosity (and access to a computer) should be able to figure it out.
Of course, 'Who Dat' has swept the nation lately and was even recently the subject of controversy when the NFL threatened business owners who carried 'Who Dat' merchandise with cease and desist letters (the Louisiana attorney general announced that there was an agreement reached by the league and these shop owners).
Who Dat is part of the Saints history and the term even has its own Wikipedia page. Who Dat is helping save animals in shelters. Who Dat has people planning their nuptials around Saints games. Who Dat is everywhere!!
So Mike Florio was right to admonish Clark for not knowing more about Who Dat.
As for me: I actually never really looked into the origins of Who Dat or realized it carried such lofty cultural significance. I just thought that's how people talked now.
